talked to someone in the lsu family on saturday.

well....

apparently Austin Montgomery attempted to walk on lsu last year. and didn't make it.

he is on the roster (see link below), which says he's a walk on but didn't participate.

source indicated the plan was for a walk on, but he didn't really make the team.

odd, but it's what i was told.

also that the lsu program was shocked he landed at gtown.

didn't show much during scrimmage, but i hope the lsu'ers are wrong. hahaha

Epps. smallish but has an array of deft releases and finishes. little hitch on his shot but can sink shots.
better make sure his mind and body are right as he will face length and explosion all year

cook. was stout. as one of hoyas only real, possibly consistent force players will be critical to team.

As some of you may know, high school bball coaching is not where I make my living. Unfortunately, it does not pay too well!! I am a labor law attorney in California and have been for many years.

SInce then, a complaint was issued by NLRB Region 31 in LA against USC, Pac 12 and NCAA: https://www.nlrb.gov/case/31-CA-290326
There is motion to dismiss that case that was filed last week.

In addition, the Dartmouth Basketball team filed a petiion to unionize under the National Labor Relations Act about six weeks ago Case Number: 01-RC-325633 - https://www.nlrb.gov/case/01-RC-325633

This stuff is real and gaining momentum. Do not rule it out as "silly" antics. This is very likely to happen in the future. Perhaps with these efforts, or perhaps further down the road. But, this is where the current momentum is pushing and with the 2021 Alston v. NCAA NIL SCOTUS decision, I do not expect the courts to be able to stop it.

Something to watch for sure. Things are changing and the changes are only beginning in my opinion.

In comments during the presentation, Ackerman confirmed that media rights negotiations with Fox Sports begin soon, conversations are already underway to extend the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden through at least 2032 with "strong mutual interest" in an extension, and while the Big East is not expanding under its current media deal, it maintains communication with Gonzaga University, which is weighing pursuit of a deal with the Big 12, which is adding Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah in 2024.

"There's no better fit for Gonzaga than the Big East, if you look at the kind of school they are," Ackerman said. "It's clear from what we read that other factors may have come into play for them in terms of money, alignment with maybe a football league. That's their decision to make."

Big East Schedule - You play teams from your division twice (12 games). you play teams from the other division once (7 games) - 19 game conference schedule

Worst team in each division is out after regular season
Twelve Teams make the Big East Tourney - 6 from each division and they are seeded 1 thru twelve with the top team from each division guaranteed to be the 1 and 2 seeds and the second team in the division guaranteed to be the 3 and 4 seeds.
Round one Wednesday - 12 v. 5 and 11 v. 6, 10 v. 7, 8 v. 9 The 4 top teams get a bye
Round two quarterfinals Thursday - 1 v. 8/9 and 4 v. 6/12 on one side of bracket and , 2 v. 7/10 and 3 v. 6/11 on other side of bracket

1) injuries have hurt hoyas. hard to really get up and down.

3) the best upside on the team - drew fielder

4) hoyas may need to put fielder in the paint (size issues), though he wants to and his best utilization may be away from cup.

6} staff frets on scoring potential and front court size.

7} staff is approaching it matter of factly - it is what it is and their job is to improve it.

Who do you all think is the best team in conference. I think it is either Creighton or Marquette. Winner will likely be who avoids key injuries. If Kolek or Ryan K/Trey A go down for extended period of time, then that will greatly influence the situation.

Thoughts? Anyone see UCONN, SJU or someone else with a good chance to win conference or even finish in top 2?
