Is Ewing still recruiting current seniors in high school for matriculation in September 2021? As many have noted the Hoyas have seemed to have a full roster. At the same time, Ewing seems to be still recruiting to add additional players. The question is how can he do this when the scholarship level seems full? If he adds a player or two, it seems that Ewing has two options. The first is that Berger might choose to pay full tuition. Remember, he was going to University of Pennsylvania before he decided to go to Georgetown. Berger father is also very wealthy having sold his basketball training company a few years ago. The Ivy League does not provide athletic scholarships—only need based scholarships. Thus, this provides one avenue to add a new player to the roster inasmuch the Berger Family was likely to pay full tuition to attend an Ivy League school whose tuition is equal or greater than Georgetown’s tuition, they might accept a walk on role at Georgetown.
Also, Ryan Mutombo‘s family is financially secure and can afford Georgetown’s tuition. This is the second option. Not sure of NCAA rules but inasmuch Berger never officially visited it would seem that Georgetown has room on it roster for one or possibly two scholarship players.
