re: stipend, jt3 has said previously they would make the maximum. which is like 700 a month (nice).
if you add full pell grant refunds, it's like 15k a year...at least for football kids at a certain well heeled big 12 school.
what has to change?
imo:
1) start combating the mis-info on the system. show how it changes. push that in the media. start with that locally
2) open up somewhat. it's not jt jr style, but can be a bit closed. need team camps...clinics, yada yada
3) offer earlier. i understand the hesitancy, but it's the lay of the land for MOST programs. a group the Hoyas are in imo.
4) win on national stage...nothing changes minds like winning.
5) have alums recruit more
6) reach out and embrace alums more. it's better than before, but still.
7) hit the trail HARD. they do, but even more!
