jt3:

does ncaa play impact big east tourney play?

"no. It's two seperate events. The BIG EAST Tournament is so special. There's nothing like it other than the final four...This is an important thing for our season, important for our program".

team's space right now?

"We're excited. This is the time of year you wait for. I like the way we're playing right now".

How is that?

"i think the guys are helping each other. i think we have the kind of team where on any given night, any one, two or three, four or five people can step up and help.
The games we've lost is when everyone has had an off day. So hopefully we won't have too many of those".

staus of DSR?

"he's fine. he's practiced the last couple of days"

DSR:

on what he likes the team is doing -

"just putting up a fight..."

this year vs last year at BET time?

"i think this year the strength of the team is a lot better and we're expecting a lot more".

on not playing vs SH -

"just a decision, precaution, before the game i felt like we could get that game done (without him). I think people have this misconsception that our team is not capable if i'm not on the floor. that's not the case. And obviously it showed".

what was it that happened vs butler?

"it ws just a wrong step...it wasn't nothing where i'm done for the rest of the season"

in bet or ncaa could he have done?

"yeah, i could have".

copes:

is depth important?

"very big...we've played them multiple times so they've scouted us. we need everybody to be ready. They may have kept some guys off of the scouting report, and they may be big for us.

Players on importance of rest:

dsr - "Ice, the necessary things to keep your body comfortable. and get enough rest as possible".

water count? "...nothing to that extreme. but he (mike hill, the trainer) does emphasize certain things like that".

copes - "yeah, that's always been key for us, especially during tournament time. getting ice baths and stuff".

schemes:

cu speads their offense, creating possible edges for the guard to exploit, where they drive, pass and sometimes shoot, though that's the achilles heel of the pgs and the team actually.

they will make the 2nd and third pass, which breaks defenses down.

as such, expect the hoyas to man (sag), and anticipate that 2nd and third pass.

cu's staple defensivley this year is pack line. the hoyas will have to get some penetratoin..pat or pass...and reverse to open guys, who can shoot, drive, drop. basically keep the ballm moving to the open man.
