I heard an interview this morning by Chris Childers. He was interviewing Coach Strong from Texas. Strong indicated that one of the reasons he switched offenses to the spread is that all the HS teams in Texas are running it. Basically what he said, between the lines, is that for recruiting purposes I needed to change my offense. Assuming that this is what has contributed to the major uptick in recruiting by the Longhorns football team, I wonder how much of this translates to college hoops and whether folks believe that a major change by JTIII and the Hoyas could lead to material improvements in recruiting. Personally, I am not sure if it translates as the Hoyas have other obstacles with recruiting (although some are minimized with the new JT Center). Interesting debate anyway.
