from the pirate crew site.

1) Has Richmond made people forget about Aiken?

--Kadary Richmond has finally shaken off the effects of a non-COVID illness that had hampered him recently, and he has gotten used to being the No. 1 ballhandler. I think fans still wish Bryce Aiken were here, because he added another dimension, but they've had to get used to the idea of him not being part of the mix. Richmond is growing more and more comfortable in his role.

2) IMO opinion Samuels has been an enigma. Has he started to impact consistently now?

--Tyrese Samuel was affected more than any other Seton Hall player by the COVID shutdown, because he was stuck back home in Canada and thus didn't have access to weight training, team nutritiion, etc. It took him a while to get back his stamina. He still can be erratic--he had a strange turnover at Xavier when he lost track of where he was near midcourt--but the Pirates need his scoring presence inside. He can be an X-factor in March.

3) Is Rhoden a true #1 scorer and leader?

--Jared Rhoden definitely has taken on the "alpha" mantle recently as both go-to guy and leader. I think the absence of Aiken, in a way, has made that process a bit easier. Not that Aiken was doing anything wrong, but it is hard to have two "alphas" on one team. Rhoden has taken on some of the scoring load in Aiken's absence just in time.

4) Has Harris been a welcome surprise for SHU?

--Yes, Jamir Harris has been a surprise. Seton Hall brought him in as a three-point specialist, and he struggled at first making the leap in competition from American. Then, after he settled in as a shooter, he had to become the backup point guard in Aiken's absence. His stats in that role have not been gaudy, but he has provided a steady presence and held things down so Richmond can rest or play off the ball.

5) How far in postseason can these Pirates go? (BIG EAST and beyond)

--Seton Hall's chances of making an NCAA run depend on matchups. The Pirates can get hurt on the offensive glass, so they need to avoid UConn-type teams in the Dance. Also, finishing strong would help so that they could get off the dreaded 8-9 line and perhaps up to 7, or dare I say it, 6 with a strong showing at MSG next week.
