I loosely follow all Georgetown sports and fanatically follow basketball. I get push notifications and social media info on the other sports which by and large are seemingly in a good place. I know we were in the NCAA championship for soccer a few years back. We have our own resident lacrosse reporter in LBC keeping us up to date.
And then there is football. Like clockwork, every Saturday since I graduated (1989) I check the Patriot League scores on ESPN and almost every Saturday we lose. And usually by a pretty good margin.
I checked on a history site and we have one winning season this century back in 2011 (8-3).
So what's the deal here? Is it the terrible field (assuming that is still our field)? Is it the coaching? Is it the admissions requirements? I mean even Stanford lightened up on that end.
I guess my question is how can we be this bad for this long? Pretty impressive in my book. I mean I suppose I really don't care ultimately which might be the prevailing thought for all alumni. But still I'd rather see wins on the ESPN website than losses.
