We can debate Paul White etc as much as we want. This season was going to depend on Josh Smith and the effort we got from him. If he had come to school in shape and excited to play, we were going to be a top 10 team by the end of the year. He showed some effort early and we saw flashes but after the last month I think we have our answer on how this season will end. Maybe he has talent but I don't see it. I see a very large man that doesn't try very hard. He looks and plays like a guy that is ready for his basketball career to be over. Hopefully next year Govan and our Louisville transfer can give us more effort at the 5. We won't necessarily need offense from that position next year - we will need defense and rebounding. And hopefully the athleticism the team will have next year will make up for the shortcomings we have from our coaching staff. But I expect us to have 4 to 5 games remaining and then we can hope our guys work hard in the offseason and get ready to play next year. I have resigned myself to the fact that this season is effectively done in a couple of weeks. Sucks but what can we do. We are who we are at this point.
