following are brief takes on Hoya guys...
Premier Athletics 71 Hoop Magic 52
Greg Malinowski - 6'6", 210 pound senior wing, G'Town, Hoop Magic - shot solidly. Has been working on his ball patting. scored 19 points.
Omer Yurtseven - 6'11", 260 pound junior center, G'Town, Hoop Magic - Was kind of lackluster. Did show he has movement. Didn't convert alot, but has skill. Scored 4 points.
Antwan Walker, 6'7", 220 pound sophomore forward, G'Town, Premier - Scored 10 points. Looks stronger, but doesn't always do what he needs to; rebound, run the floor hard, hustle. I get the desire to be better with ball and shoot threes...but needs to make being a rodman like player second nature!
A Wash 75 Clydes 65
Josh LeBlanc, 6'6", 215 pound freshman wing, G'Town, Clydes - Is somewhat out of shape, due to inactivity following broken foot. is working his way into shape. Had 8 points, showing activity and effort. Will push for minutes. Can guard multiple positions.
Javon Blair, 6'3", 180 pound sophomore guard, G'Town, Clydes - Dropped 18 points. Still is primarily a shooter, though his desire to pass has improved. Ballhandling not so much
Jagan Mosely 6'3, 200 pound junior guard, G'Town, AWash - Had nine points. Was active, aggressive. Passed well. Still not confident in shooting.
Jamarko Pickett - 6'9", 210 pound sophomore wing, G'Town, Awash - Seems to have become stronger. Can still fade in and out of games, particularly when not being aggressive. He's passing better. Logged 12 points.
Tombs 76 McClinton All Stars 75
James Akinjo - 5'11", 175 pound freshman point guard, G'Town, Tombs - Dropped 19 points and impressed; drove, displayed an excellent understanding/skill in pick and roll, shot well, accepted at challenge of Anthony Cowan, throwing the Terp standout off his game with offense, defense and trash talk. Is a tough competitor. Passed solidly. Sometimes dribbles too much, needs to get off ball more quickly.
Mac McClung - 6'2", 185 pound freshman guard, G'Town, Tombs - Slashed his way to 18 points. Finished at times in spectacular fashion. Has a better feel than previously in ball screen action - flexed out to create passing space one time - but is still a blow by guy, not changing pace and keeping his dribble.
Tre Mourning - 6'8", 215 pound senior forward, G'Town, McClinton - Had 18 points, vast majority in the first half, where he shot at a high level. Still can get bullied physically by mature big men.
On point 85 Higher Level 80
Jessie Govan - 6'11", 250 pound senior center, G'Town, Higher Level - Scored 22 points. Was at times active, wasn't at others. Didn't really post down low, though teammates were also not looking for him when it occurred. Is still an enigma.
Kaleb Johnson - 6'7", 200 pound senior wing, G'Town, On Point - In route to 20 points, drove, finished and made plays for others. Doesn't truly trust his jumper.
Grayson Carter - 6'9", 220 pound freshman forward, G'Town, On Point - Had five points. Seemingly can shoot the ball. Is not forceful in the paint yet. It's unsure if he's simply figuring out his role/level, or if Carter is not willing to really bang.
