To me, we need another guard and it should be either another ball handler or a shooter.
These would be two guards to look at each who fill a different need. Lanier will be tough to get. A great shooting SG who is being pursued by UK and others.
Smith seems to be a good choice as a back up ball handler to Mack. Probably the best PG in the Patriot League last year. Really good at getting by his man. Matt Langel runs a great program. I have no idea who is recruiting him other than I read that he has heard from Gonzaga and Florida.
