via tim krueger, bluejaybanter.com on the 'jays:

1) how are the jays adjusting to life without watson?

"So-so. The team seems to have adjusted fine. However the point guard position is still in flux. Davion Mintz is starting and has played decently. Most everyone that follows Creighton is puzzled why he doesn't get more playing time. Coach McDermott has gone a lot with Isaiah Zierden. He is a senior but problem is he is not a point guard. The offense bogs down, he can't defend like he used to because of injuries and at the point can't create a shot. Walk on Tyler Clement plays as well but has been inconsistent and is a liability on the defensive end.

"On the flip side in most of the games Watson has missed the team is scoring at a high rate. Watson wasn't the greatest defender in the world but the team has struggled on that end of the floor.

..."In summary life has not been smooth without Mo but no one thought it would. The two close losses to Xavier and Seton Hall may have been avoided with Watson but the rest of the schedule would have played out as is. If Mintz starts getting a majority of the minutes at the point, Huff gets more consistent on the offensive end this team can still go deep in the NCAA's".

2) is patton adjusting/counteracting the physical nature teams have attacked him with?

"He has had some issues with that in the loss to Xavier and recently against Seton Hall. He only gathered two rebounds against Angel Delgado. Which is why, even though most have him slotted as a lottery pick, I think he will come back to school next year. He still is a match up problem for most teams as he can pull centers out away from the hoop and beat them with his quickness.
In another puzzling move Zach Hanson, who is back from injury, only played six minutes against Seton Hall. He has the size to contend with Delgado. Having him back is key to Creighton's success down the stretch.

3) is foster a combo guard now, or is he still really a bucket getter?

"Foster is still a two guard who plays occasionally at the three. His handle is not good enough to be a point guard. In fact if his handle was better he would be close to unstoppable. He is sharing the ball much better with out Watson, garnering six assists against Seton Hall. He has struggled shooting the ball in Big East play but he seems to be coming out of his slump over the last two games. If he starts shooting it Creighton will be just fine'
