Players:

Jonathan Mulmore – Hoop Magic 6’3”, 185 pound junior guard, Georgetown – His competiveness seemed to drive the game, as Mulmore, battling foes on the court and verbally. For instance, he was heard telling Hoya teammate Jagan Mosely “All day” after blowing by him. Also chided Tombs’ Tyler Hubbard by saying “You are a boy”; essentially trying to get in his head. Both Mosely and Hubbard responded by attacking Mulmore’s defense.

Mulmore’s competitive level will be a benefit to Georgetown, internally and externally. He still must develop the jump shot, though it’s not broken per se – he just doesn’t shoot it with confidence, has to work on his shooting pocket/elbow, and get more physical lift.

Marcus Derrickson – Tombs, 6’8”, 250 pound sophomore forward, Georgetown – As reported on @HoyaNation, Derrickson was injured, later in the game, suffering what’s believed by several sources to be a hyperextended knee.

Before that setback cleared the glass well and shot from distance early. Was playing well.

Rodney Pryor – Tombs, 6’5”, 206 pound graduate forward, Georgetown – Again Pryor proved himself a scorer, dropping 39 points in every way imaginable. Rodney simply gets buckets, and it’s not by accident.

“He definitely knows the finer points of scoring” said international pro Eddie Basden of Pryor, “how to find his points”. That includes excellent off ball movement, which Basden noted in-game by admonishing his teammates “I don’t see y’all following him back and forth, back and forth. It takes a team” do deal with such activity.

Hoop Magic’s head coach Curtis Symonds is duly impressed, sharing “I think he might be one of the best Georgetown guys I’ve seen, all around...He can play, defend, rebound. Is a total player”.

Jagan Mosely – Tombs, 6’3”, 200 pound freshman guard, Georgetown – Finished with 14 points, yet more importantly made plays all over the court, including scoring and defending. Was active in all phases of the game.

Answering Mulmore’s verbosity by taking him to the hoop said something about Mosely resolve.

L.J. Peak – Clydes, 6’5”, 210 pound junior guard, Georgetown – Did what he does, which means shoot from distance or get to the cup. Has worked on his left hand drive/finish.

Peak’s middle game must be developed.

Jessie Govan – Clydes, 6’11”, 260 pound sophomore center, Georgetown – Scored in the paint, while also demonstrating his ability to shoot just inside the three point line.

Has to own the glass.
