jt3 stuff:
win vs depaul
"it was a big win, as everyone knows, road wins in the league are all big wins. Looking at it in light of where we've been, having lost two in a row, to go out there, and playing a team that had come off a pretty big win against GW, where they'd beaten GW pretty easily, I thought our guys stayed poised. And just understood the mentality necessary to win in conference play".
what's necessary to defeat league teams
"It's going to be systematic; we need a good offensive possession, we need a good defensive possession, a good offensive possesiion. And then you pick your head up at the end of the game and hopefully a lot of results will be like that".
marq toughness
"that's every team in this league...that's BIG EAST Basketball...The BIG eAST is still the BIG eAST, the trademark is tough, physical basketball.
marquette's attack
"to that end, marquette has two kids inside that are very, very good offensive players. That they do everything to try and cram the ball down their throat. And the've been very successul, they're coming off they just lost their past game but they were coming off 10, 11 in a row. They're playing well. They have good complimentary pieces around Fischer and Ellenson.
"So it has to be a team effort. It has to be a tight, 40 minute team effort...We have to be the more physical team, without fouling.
vs high-low which marq loves to deploy
"Those two do a good job of passing to each other. We just want to see if we can make the catches hard. You're not going to be able to take it away, because that's what they do...But just giving them different looks when they get the ball; from fronting to three quartering, to possibly doubling. Giving them different looks so they don't fall into a rhythm, when they get to that.
"But they do. they get to those sets and then they spray it around to guys that can penetrate the gaps as well as make the shots. We just have to throw them off rhythm".
them sagging extremely on weak side
"they've done that this year. it's completely different then last year...when they played a lot of zone. This year they play the ball side very hard, and then with a lot of help; they're out in the passing lanes, out denying. But then the weak side is in there (the paint).
"That's what they've been doing all year. And they do a good job of on reversal, the whole thing shifting; i'm going from extra help to now I'm out denying and the guy that's denying is in help".
campbell starting...see again?
"I'm not sure. L.J. had been sick and missed the two or three practices leading up to that. But I like the results. So we'll see".
white no start vs depaul...start today?
I don' think we're going to see him tomorrow.
force marquette into threes?
"Yeah, the way we've defended the three, I don't think we'll have to force it. They'll try to find a way to get it on their own.
"But the point of emphasis is protecting the interior...I'm not saying we're going to give them threes, like I said we've been doing that without trying to, but we want to protect the interior".
