1) First off if I've ever had doubts about the value of this site (which I haven't), Ron's tireless work has eliminated them. Great job my friend. I'm so damn emotional (Italian guy) that I could never do what he does. I would have kicked half of you out by now even though I love all of you guys!

2) As a member of the class of 1989 (just after Ewing, but got to see Mourning and Mutombo and a bunch of others), I've always loved the program but did not like the fact that we were run so differently from pretty much every other school in the nation. I truly believe we are headed in the direction of more transparency and more involvement from all facets. This is probably the thing that makes me happiest.

3) The names being tossed and turned about are overwhelming me. It reminds me of when two buddies and I went to Cuba illegally about 20 years ago and there were so many hot women to choose from it became exhausting. But I also think the underlying fact is that the committee is doing their job.

4) I love Tags taking control like Ron said. I think if you have a reservation about a coach, he will have done the due diligence to gain that information -- for example the Michigan sentiment about Amaker. I think he knows how big of a decision this is and won't just mail it in. In a sense this is the first big coaching decision being made in the program since 1972.

5) I'm a little higher Georgetown and its ceiling as a program than some. Not because of history or tradition. But because we are supposed to be the crown jewel of a basketball conference that is working very well right now. Because we are the team that is in the nation's premier hotbed of high school basketball arguably. And I think many of the things that made Georgetown a difficult sell from a players and a recruiting standpoint are the intangibles that should be changing with a new regime. Now we'll just have the usual problems --- trying to get kids into school, trying to beat the blue bloods, etc. I really think you're going to see an invigorated DMV area when it comes to Hoya basketball over the next few years.

Anyways I am very excited for this choice. Like all of you I have my favorites but will steadfastly support whoever the choice is even if I don't like it.
