generally recruiting runs in cycles, with certain areas blossoming this year, others the next.

within that certain positions blossom similarily...wings may be hot nationally one year, big the following...etc.

this year, from what ive seen and heard...lead/point guards are at a low point.

addias gauntlet

terrible guard play. few players making others better and/or displaying good feel for the game. everyone wants to be allen iverson...nobody is.

eybl

an eybl coach noted the guard play is horrible, compared to expectations. was told "we have the bigs...several future pros. point guard play is bad". this if from a former pg who can develop them

to that end, that's one of the reasons team takeover has been so dominant...the team has a four/five guard rotation of guys that share the ball/game and can run stuff. they have bigs, bolstered even more by bacot's return. and they are excelling, despite not having wings.

uaa

i've seen uaa teams, but not league and haven't spoken to any of the coaches yet. so not commenting on that league. but to be honest from what i've seen it's more combo/2g guards trying to be pgs.

non sponsored

i've seen a number of good non sponsored teams...guard play is up and down. these crews have solid d1 guys...but the lead guard zish is struggling.
