1) it looks like Syr is improving offensively in the way and consistency of scoring. How do they now get shots schematically?

Syracuse is streaky when it comes to scoring. If the long ball is dropping and they get on a hot streak it is tough to stop them. If a defense shuts them down from the three they will struggle. When the three is not falling it has been tough for them to score. Jimmy Boeheim and Jesse Edwards are the best low post scorers. Right now Buddy Boeheim is slumping and that has hurt production. Game in and game out you don't know what team will show up.

The scheme right now is very one on one. This Syracuse team really likes to dribble the ball to get up shots. There is a lot of pick and roll that turns into pick and pop. This Orange team is still figuring everything out.

2) talk about what the Boeheim boys can and can't do

The Boeheim brothers scoring wise can do it all. They both have an inside out game. Jimmy is more the in the paint guy that can put up a three. Buddy is the shooter from distance, but don't be fooled he likes his mid range game. He will alao catch a defender with a drive now and then when they over play him outside.

The thing they don't do well are rebounding. If Syracuse played man to man a would say defense as well. In the zone their length more than anything makes up for their lack of quickness. As sons of a Hall of Fame coach they play like it.

3) the kid from Amsterdam looks to finally be rounding into some form. is that fair and how has he improved?

Jesse Edwards found his game late last season and is picking up where he left off. Edwards is a rim protector and a rebounder and he showed that last season. This season he has shown improvment on offense. The Orange center is a player that a defense can't lose sight of because he has the ability to score. The good news for Syracuse is that he keeps getting better and better each time out.

4) the zone is still morphing, still adjusting. boeheim even tandems out of it. nevertheless it doesn't seem as devastating as before. is this accurate?

The Syracuse zone is under going more changes than it has in a long time. The past couple games the Orange have played a 1-3-1 zone. That has been effective the last three games. The old 2-3 is still there and it is a factor.

As far as the Syracuse zone being dominate, not this year. In the Orange rotation only three players played in it a year ago. (Buddy, Girard, Edwards) The other five players in the rotation are new to the system. That is why there have been some growing pains.

6) how is boeheim adjusting to today's player?

Jim Boeheim has no problem with players. If anything players have a problem with him. At the end of the day though he tends to be right more often than not. For example, last season he lost a few guys to the transfer portal and those players (Kadary Richmond, Woody Newton and Quincy Guerrier) are not seeing better results in their new homes. He still has the best interest for his players and he tells it how it is. Some players don't like that and think they no whats best.
