Australian big named Austin Rapp. 6'8" and very skilled. But most will look at him and see his body is what I would classify as big and chunky. But everyone made that mistake with Lofton. Not saying in any way shape or form he's as good as Lofton.
anyways, the reason I know about this is I played basketball in high school with his dad (check that he played and I sat mostly). His dad was a D2 all-American with UC San Diego. His older brother played and started two seasons ago at Washington St. and didn't see much time this year and transferred to Hawaii. Doesn't score but well coached from his dad and does all the little things. Always had a great +/- when he was on the court. His older sister plays for St. Mary's.
He is being recruited by Louis Orr. Interestingly enough, Orr's kid Chauncey lived with the Rapps for a while in Australia hence the connection.
It's very early but Austin is hearing from Georgetown, Washington St., St. Mary's among many other schools.
Dad is pushing for him to go West Coast to make it easy to see all his kids play when he travels to the US.
He just left for Spain for 35 days to play with whatever National team he is on. Anyways, he's the big kid 2nd from the left in this pic:
hmmm what's an approved image host -- when somebody tells me I'll post his pic
