So I'm fortunate to have some friends in the NBA inner circles through the sport of volleyball of all things. Ron knows who they are but I'd prefer to keep that to myself.
I let Ron know in an email (and I might have posted this already), but I was told months ago that KD, Quinn Cook and Kyrie to NY was almost a given. And previous info I have gotten from this circle has almost always come true.
But things change obviously. Was told last year that KD and Kerr didn't speak for the final 4 months of the season and he was most likely gone. But these same people told me that all changed after coming back from the 3-1 deficit to Houston.
I will also say that I have been told that KD is hyper-sensitive and cares way too much about what people think. That's pretty obvious to anyone. He's also pretty odd.
But I love him on the Warriors and hope he stays. It's over if he doesn't. At least the juggernaut they are now. Hell, it might be over regardless. Teams are catching up.
So the Warriors are saying this is a calf sprain but a lot of players are saying that it's more than that. Most likely an Achilles. Shaq said it ended his career. DeMarcus Cousins wasn't really the same this year. There hasn't been a whole lot of situations where anybody came back the same.
And I pray it's not serious but if it is he's not playing for a year.
So my question to the Knicks fans here. If it is serious and considering that Kyrie disappeared in his series, how do you feel about those players signing with the Knicks? Kind of a tough situation all around. Do you pay for Durant for 4 with at least one redshirt year and no guarantee he's the same player?
That said, I pray KD is okay even if he doesn't come back. He has the chance to be on the Mount Rushmore of the NBA. Kareem said the other day he thinks KD passes him.
