as many of you know my brother in law is the volleyball coach at SDSU -- they were getting wooed big time by the Pac 12 and the Big 12. It was always the AD's intention to go to the Pac 12. They pulled out of the potential move due to the very shaky situation the conference is currently in
the Big 10 is sniffing around Oregon and Washington and also Cal and Stanford (massive TV markets there with SF Bay Area and Seattle)
the Big 12 is sniffing around Oregon and Washington and I'm sure ASU
one would also think that Utah is going to be a hot commodity
also it looks like the Pac 12 TV deal will finally materialize but it's on Apple as the big boys wanted no part of the conference
this is all due to incompetent leadership and was set in motion when the Pac 12 strong-armed Texas about eliminating their TV channel for the Pac 12 encompassing channel
short-sighted back then and it will cost them
bottom line: the conference I grew up watching is dying on the vine -- and this is pretty ironic for me as I thought the Big East would die when all those defections took place but Val and the conference are doing really well!
