An out of the box choice could be Randy Bennett at SMC. He seems to get the best players from Australia every single year and his teams are perennial top 40 and often top 25. He adds local California talent and makes it work. He has a Latvian kid coming in from New Hampton that many are very high on. He knows what it is like to coach at a basketball centric small catholic school. If Gtown administration wanted to make a big change, I think Bennett could be even more successful at a school like Gtown than he has been at SMC if given a few years to do it. It would be risky and would totally change the image of the program, but I know some folks want to run as far from Thompsons as possible and this would be a real drastic change. I am not advocating it. Just something that popped in my head.
