"President DeGioia’s expectations remain the same - that the program will continue to represent our university with the integrity that has always characterized Georgetown: our student athletes will achieve academically, we will prepare young men for the future beyond Georgetown and that the team will be competitive on a national level. We look forward to supporting Coach Thompson in his leadership of the team next year."-President DeGioia through a spokesman on JT3

Hoyas fans how do you read this? I find it to be vague and obtuse. What does competitive on a national level mean? The first three points are a given...when has that not been the mission of the men's basketball team? It doesn't even need to be said at Georgetown. The last point is so open to interpretation. Would it to be too much to ask to have the President, AD, or even JT3 engage with fans in a better way than just releasing a statement through a spokesperson? I'm so frustrated. Thoughts?
