they are:
a tough team that has a wildcard scorer in martin , who drives and shoots seemingly at a whim and makes them. first team all league caliber guy.
offensively:
they go four around one, moving well on offense, including drives, drifts, skips, to man posts game and cuts.
have a continuity type ball screen action also. will use that to ddrive, find and hit drifts.
will run when available.
Savage at pg seems to take them to another level, offensively, in that he's a better scorer than the nc state transfer lewis, who is more of a trigger man who moves the ball well.
Andrew C. posts from midpost, also will float out to three. hits the boards. is tough.
Hoyas should -
push when possible, putting pressure on their transition defense
press them - lewis and savage can get sped up - and continue that with aggressive man. possibly not having campbell may hurt that though.
control the defensive glass...if you give them 2nd shots, you lose.
hedge hard the ball screen action, again making their dribblers make plays under duress.
understand they will ball screen high (incl cross) and flat
when they try and skip, it's not tight sometimes, watch the passing lanes for easy scores.
defensively:
pack line, though they seemed to sneak in a 2 3 match up (maybe just shell though). the latter as a curve ball, and sometimes starts as 1 1 3, ostensibly to slow the opposing ball handler
might hedge ball screens, but they rarely get distended from that sagging.
will switch obviously.
hoyas should --
get ball inside to bigs. there is an advantage there.
against that mu, hit the sides early, then dump to foul line. short corner or reverse pass should be there.
run more ball screen action, particularly when widemen is involved. ball screen should be big anyway, as pack line is tough against princeton cuts...unless it gets distended. skips should be there too.
transition, transition, transtion.
press them and play aggressive man?
